The Martingale Foundation is delighted to announce that offers have been made to the 2024 Martingale Scholars!
After several rounds of assessments and an extremely competitive applicant pool, conditional offers for Scholarships commencing in 2024/25 were made to candidates across the U.K. and Ireland.
Cassandra Hugill, CEO of Martingale Foundation shares “We were incredibly impressed with the talent and passion of the candidates. It was a highlight of the year for the Martingale team to be able to make offers to such a talented group of Scholars and we look forward to supporting them on their next steps”.
Many thanks to everyone who supported with the recent assessment centres and during the recruitment period. This was an integral part of connecting with the candidates and wouldn’t have been possible without the tremendous support from our partners across the sector.
Over the last few weeks, shortlisted candidates were invited to assessment centres in London and Edinburgh. Candidates were then interviewed by both an academic panel and a Martingale panel.
Dan Lawson, from University of Bristol, one of Martingale’s new university partners, shared his thoughts after taking part in the interview process; “The students that we interviewed have overcome adversity to be there, so with support from the Martingale Foundation can go on to translate that tenacity into great things in the future. As an interviewer, it is a pleasure and a privilege to work with and be able to help such worthy students pursue their full capability.”.
We look forward to welcoming the incoming Scholars-in-principle to the December showcase, to be held at the Royal Institution on the 8th December. The cohort will have the opportunity to meet representatives from each of our partner universities, hear from current postgraduates and discuss which courses they may be interested in.
In the coming months, we will support the Scholars-in-principle to make several applications to partner universities, with course offers announced on the 15th March. Once a Scholar-in-principle has been offered and accepted a course, their 2024 Scholarship will be confirmed, and they will officially become a Martingale Scholar.
Martingale Scholars receive:
- A fully-funded scholarship to pursue a Masters degree at one of our partner universities
- All tuition fees and research expenses covered, including a tax-free stipend for living costs
- Tailored support to apply for a Martingale PhD Scholarship
- Access to the Martingale Development Programme, including leadership training and access to top academic and industry professionals
- Membership of a pioneering community of future STEM leaders
Congratulations again to all the offer holders!
We will share the next round of applications when they open next summer on our website, social media and via the monthly newsletter.
